Smooth Sounds is pleased to announce the debut release of George Salta, an extraordinarily accomplished flamenco guitarist. Salta studied classical guitar in Frankfurt, Germany, and subsequently had the distinct honor and privilege of being the assistant and apprentice to flamenco virtuoso Paco Pena. In 1976, George formed his own guitar ensemble "El Duo Flamenco." Since 1978, he has travelled the world delighting audiences in concerts, on television and radio. With this beautiful recording, Salta presents his own compositions and his inspired impressions of the world of the Spanish guitar, in all of its wonderful Spanish and South American varieties, melodies, roots and rhythms. This recording is elegant in its simplicity and virtuosity, and beautifully pays homage to this timeless instrument and style.
